Charlotte Fairbairn

Charlotte has worked in the arts, politics and journalism. Since 1990, she has lived in Cumbria and since 2010, at Kelleth Old Hall.

She has had three novels published: A Bear with an Egg in her Paws (Citron Press 1999); God Breathes his Dreams through Nathaniel Cadwallader (Headline 2002); With the Sound of the Sea (Headline 2004).

In 2015, she won a Northern Writers’ Award and is currently putting together a historical exhibition at Lowther Castle, near Penrith, to open Easter 2017.

The Idea... to provide a peaceful and happy environment where you can make some real headway with your creative projects.

You can paint or write and if you want to come just to read and think, that is equally welcome.

Kate Stannard

Kate Stannard is a qualified Iyengar Yoga teacher, a Swedish, Sports and Remedial massage therapist, a Personal Trainer and fitness instructor. She is also a qualified Mountain Leader and works regularly on outdoor events with companies such as Discover Adventure. Before moving to Cumbria to work solely in the above disciplines, Kate lectured for eight years in Contemporary Performance and Movement at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

She has worked as an artist, director and performer, and educator both nationally and internationally.

Daily Timetable:
8.30-10.00 Breakfast (Fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt and toasts)
10.00-13.00 Silent morning – time for writing, painting, reading, thinking
13.00-14.30 Lunch (Salads, cheeses, home-made deli food)
15.00-16.30 Yoga (alternate days)
Afternoon free for work or walking
19.30 Supper (sample menus available on enquiry)
Option each evening for film viewing
Biscuits, tea & coffee freely available all day
